Non-citizens who live/stay in Singapore play a part in ultimately improving the economy of Singapore through their monetary contributions and their ideas and insights. Their contributions to the economy and the politics are crucial as they constitute around a quarter of the country's population.

3.What are our roles as citizens when communicating and working with non-citizens in Singapore?

I feel that we as citizens should make non-citizens feel welcome and at home when communicating with them. While working we should make them feel that they are an integral part of the workforce and they are an asset that we cannot live without.

4.What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of policies aimed at helping non-citizens integrate into our society?

With the open-door policy that Singapore has for immigrants, we are able to attract more foreign talent and this will hence be very beneficial to us as they will be contributing to our economy. However, if there were to be an influx in foreign workers due to this policy, Singaporeans themselves will have a hard time finding jobs as they will need to compete with the foreign talents that are coming in.

3)What are our roles as citizens when communicating and working with non-citizens in Singapore?

As Singapore citizens, we are supposed to make them feel at home. We shouldn't think negatively of them by having this stereotype mindset that with them around, there will be less job opportunity for us. While working with them, we can learn a thing or two and see it as something beneficial.

4)What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of policies aimed at helping non-citizens integrate into our society?

Singapore will be more multi-racial and the foreign talents will be able to improve the economic growth of Singapore. Not only that, more foreigners will be attracted to come to Singapore. However, with these policies, Sigaporeans may feel that these non-citizens get it better than them.

1. These non-citizens come to singapore for work and study, most of them has skills and expertise that Singapore's home-bred workers do not have. Thus they are contributing to singapore's economy. They also function as Singapore's citizens, living in Singapore like a normal citizen even though only for their work period.

3. We must be considerate and not think that non-citizens are here to snatch everything we have from us, but rather, they are here to help Singapore grow by providing us with the skills and expertise in speacialist areas. We should also bond with them, make them feel at home.

4. Some disadvantages would be that citizens working in the health care, information technology or management industries would face more competition in job application.
However, some advantages would be non-citizens can apply for the S pass and work permit easily online.

1: What do you think are the roles of non-citizens in Singapore?

- I think the roles of the non-citizens in Singapore are to be able to take up the jobs that Singapore shun. These jobs such as construction workers, cashiers, cleaners, etc are important jobs that many Singaporeans are unwilling to handle. Hence, we should be thankful they are available to fill up these jobs for us Singaporeans.

2: To what extent do you see non-citizens contributing to our society and on what levels? (eg. social, economical and political )

- The large population of non-citizens in Singapore are taking up about 1/4 of Singapore's total population. They are taking up our space and opportunities such as jobs, houses, etc. For example, some Singaporeans lose to foreign talents in getting the very same job even in our own country.

3) As citizens of Singapore, our mindsets must be changed and we should welcome other foreign talents with patience and tolerance when communicating and working with non-citizens of Singapore in order for our nation's capability to grow and expand.

4) Advantages of the policies allows non-citizens to easily get work permits. Disadvantages of the policies. Some disadvantages that non-citizens may face as they might be sterotyped as "uncertain" and to face fierce competition during job hunting.

1. I think that the roles of non-citizens in Singapore is to help the growth of Singapore as a whole and the availabilty of more value- added services in an Asian country.

2.In my opinion, non-citezens are contributing to SIngapore, economically. With more foreigners in Singapore, there is more people to cater to in Singapore and more jobs ahev to be available in Singapore, so that that people are not left unemployed and not able to support their family. If more oppurtunities are given out to foreigners, Singaporeans are not left with a place and are forced to leave the country for more oppurtunities.

1)What do you think are the roles of non-citizens in Singapore?

Ans: As Singapore's annual birth rate is dropping,Singapore faces the problem of having local expertises and talent. Henceforth, non-citizens played an important role of bring their knowledge and expertises to Singapore.

2) To what extent do you see non-citizens contributing to our society and on what levels? (eg. social, economical and political )

Ans: Looking on the social aspect, the non-citizens brings in their different culture to Singapore which then allow the Singaporeans to have a better understanding of other countries. On the economial aspect, the non-citizens are able to bring in more foreign customers which they might have worked with before coming to Singpore.

1. What do you think are the roles of non-citizens in Singapore?

The non-citizens in Singapore are here to cover up for the declining birth rates.

2. To what extent do you see non-citizens contributing to our society and on what levels? (eg. social, economical and political )

The non-citizens contribute socially by taking up our space everywhere for example, our HDB flats. Its bad enough that Singapore has limited land and not much houses can be built but these foreigners take up one-quarter of the space, making it difficult for our own Singaporeans to find a house.

1. I agree on the 1st article that roles of the non-citizens are to contribute to the expansion and growth of the nation's capabilities. It nevertheless contributes to Singapore's talents.

2. I personally feel that non-citizens/foreign talents can contribute to our society in all aspects. As world class talents are known t be rare in singapore, foreign talents are needed to assist for example in sports oriented areas. However, this would also mean that there would be little room for our young talents to prosper if we are too dependant on foreing talents. Therefore i believe that in every area, it is no doubt that we may need external help, but we need to also consider our young talents.

3.What are our roles as citizens when communicating and working with non-citizens in Singapore?

* We, not only as Singaporean citizens but also human beings, should make these foreigners feel welcome here in Singapore. They are after all here to work, support their families & to earn a living as well just like the rest of us. It is not surprising that at the end of the day, all of us have a common goal and that is to succeed and lead a happy life. Hence, every Singaporeans are the reflection of what they have to offer to the world through our gestures to the foreign talents here.

4.What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of policies aimed at helping non-citizens integrate into our society?

*One major advantage is that economically, Singapore will be able to gain popularity around the world as these foreign talents may have their own contacts to share with the local companies. In addtion to that, Singaporeans will be able to experience a more variety of friends globally, understanding each other's culture and religion, especially to the young. Nevertheless, as human beings, the feeling of Singaporeans being taken over by foreigners cannot be helped. Thus, creating tensions amongst workers and even students. :(
