i love this verse, especially the bit about the dress, as its all about feelings then it brings u back to earth by mentioning something material
It's mostly about being in love, but I have also another interpretation:
The universe just vanished out of sight
And all the stars collapsed behind the pitch black night
And I can barely see your face in front of mine
--> it's about lost love... there used be light , but now, there is something like darkness in your mind when you are thinking about her/him
But it is knowing you are there that makes me fine
--> but you didn't lose your love completly, you are still friends. The feeling is different, but it's still... well, just fine.
